About The Event
Welcome to the Wiltshire Skills Festival website.
Getting friendly with goats, trying out stonemasonry, learning the skills of fire fighting and carrying out radio interviews were just some of the hands-on activities available at the 2010 Wiltshire Skills Festival, held at Wiltshire College, Lackham on 29th and 30th June 2010.
The Skills Festival is much more than a careers event. It helps young people (Year 10s) focus on the skills they could learn and the kinds of careers the training will lead to. Students have the opportunity to get hands-on with practical activities from the workplace whilst they talk to exhibitors about the opportunities, training and progression in that industry.
This was the third Wiltshire Skills Festival and was organised by Connexions, Wiltshire Council and Wessex Chambers of Commerce in conjunction with Wiltshire College and was funded by Connexions Wiltshire.
